Johns Hopkins University invited 2,309 new students today to join the Class of 2023, a diverse group selected from an applicant pool of 30,163. They'll join the 641 early decision students who were offered admission in December.
The Hopkins Class of 2023 comes from 49 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, four U.S. territories, and 91 other countries, with China, Canada, South Korea, India, and Nigeria having the most representation among international students.
The Hopkins admissions process is need-blind, meaning financial status is not a factor in whether a student is accepted. These new Blue Jays will be among the first Hopkins students to take full advantage of the landmark $1.8 billion donation from alumnus Michael Bloomberg that will allow for more comprehensive financial aid packages for undergraduates, including eliminating loans for domestic students.
Students who applied regular decision can view admissions decisions online at mydecision.jhu.edu. Notifications were sent out at 3 p.m. today.
Admitted students have until May 1 to accept their spot in the class.
