China's President Hu Jintao visits Yale
President Hu Jintao visited Yale April 21 to give an address in Sprague Memorial Hall to students and faculty. President Hu also met with Yale President Richard C. Levin, who has visited China six times in recent years and invited President Hu to visit Yale.
Yale has a long and deep connection with China. The first Chinese student, Yung Wing, to study in the United States came to Yale, graduating in 1854. Today, more Yale faculty conduct academic projects in China than in any other country and Yale hosts more students and scholars from China than from any other foreign nation.
