  1. This adds up to 2,031 "admits."

Yale reported an initial admit total of 1,940.

So does this include 91 first round waitlist admits?

What about later waitlist admits to fill slots vacated by admits going elsewhere, or otherwise dropped by the wayside?

What about people deferring a year - are they included in this number?

Hard to evaluate the data without this information, in addition to knowing WHICH 66% + of the admits - whatever that number may be - actually will end up matriculating.

  2. I believe that this is the number of total admits -- everyone -- by May 23, 2010, or little earlier, if this person counted correctly. Usually when you get in Yale, you can see everyone who was admitted when you log in their site. At this point, I don't think that the "deferred" or other cases are not included, because Yale should have not made any conclusion about any admit. It is too earlier to do so, as anything could happen.

Obviously this list was made for other purposes other than counting waitlist admits.

  3. Message from Yale admission office:

The 2013 names on the admits site include current students and admissions officers who post regularly on the message boards along with all admitted students, regardless of whether the students accept, decline or defer their offer of admission.

  4. So... how many people DID Yale admit this year, including from the waitlist, and how many actually matriculated rather than deferring a year?

Strangely, Yale has not posted this information.
